March 10, 2008RED SOCKS KICKS OFF PROSTATE CANCER CAMPAIGN
March 10th marks the beginning of Prostate Cancer Awareness Week which makes the work of retired Cardiff businessman Keith Cass especially poignant.
Keith is set to launch his red sock Campaign with a black-tie dinner and Cabaret next month. The red sock Campaign, (so named as Keith was wearing red socks on the day of his diagnosis and has worn them ever since), will raise funds for clinical research into the disease in as well as facilities to improve the quality of life for its sufferers.
Keith hopes to raise enough money to provide a patients room at Velindre Hospital in Whitchurch, and finance research at Cardiff University under Professor Malcolm Mason, Professor of Oncology for Cancer Research Wales, who is undertaking pioneering work into the disease.
